Thank you for helping us better understand your workflow. ![]() What is your current workflow? Is everyone copying files from your network server to their local machine and uploads back to the network server after editing the file? Then, from the network server, you are dropping the files in BIM 360 with the help of Desktop Connector? Am I getting this right? So, when you are opening and saving a file from Desktop Connector, all the information is being sent back to the source (BIM 360) where the changes are saved and a new version of that file is registered, so that everyone can see it. Have you got the chance to check the Help content for Desktop Connector? If there is information missing from it, what is that you would need us to clarify for you?īasically, what Desktop Connector does is to mirror the content of your BIM 360 account on a virtual drive (or connected drive) created on the local machine. There is no standard time, I would say it varies with the files complexity and with the amount of data that needs to be translated. The delay you are seeing is expected as it takes a while for files to be processed and then for the connected drive to sync and reflect the changes made to the source file. ![]() My name is Bogdan and I am with Autodesk Technical Support. Sign in here with your Autodesk account to have your set up automatically. The documentation on this product is horrible and doesn't tell you what it's doing, which makes it very difficult to understand how it's actually supposed to work.Īre we trying to do something that isn't going to work? We've only got about 20 more days to solve all the issues. Technical Support Issue: When creating a project in ReCap Photo, or when trying to select files in the Autodesk Drive account, the following message appears: Autodesk Desktop Connector is not fully set up. So we were told to use the Desktop connector. The command has also been relocated under the help sub menu. We're being forced into this situation with the elimination of Buzzsaw. The Refresh Drives command has been renamed to Check for Drives. But I can only do that if the VM machine is seeing the changes. In ideal world, I don't need to have a person logged into the machine. So we have the Desktop Connector installed on a VM machine and would like to set up a Windows Scheduler to push and pull files from our network server. We're trying to set up a Sync between our Network server and the BIM 360 site via the Desktop Connector. Is there a time lapse for how long it takes before another user will see a file change? When user one opens the file and makes changes to a file on their local machine and saves back, User 2 doesn't see those changes right away. We have the desktop connector set up on several machines.
